Brake pedal fade
Hello,
1994 civec, ex. The problem is pedal fade while stopped. When I first noticed it, the fluid was down about half way in the MC. I topped it up and then checked all wheels and lines for signs of a leak. Found none. I did the tests for the booster, pump and start, hold and stop engine, and restart and press. No indication of booster failure.
The car did sit for about a year before I bought it. The next thing I want to do is bleed the old fluid out and replace with new. I have never done this with an ABS brake system. I understand the system is pressurized and the Haynes manual defers all ABS work to your friendly mechanic. I have looked for signs of a leak at the top of the linkage at the interior firewall also and found none.
Any help or advice would be great.
Thanks, Lou
