Penzoil Synchromesh is $7-$8 a quart and it's a small price to pay to protect your $300-$600+ transmission.

Also, I noticed the drain plug is a square? What's the deal there?

You just use a 3/8's extension on a ratchet for the drain plug.

in my gsr i put 3 quarts of Penzoil Synchromesh. theyre like $7-8 a quart at autozone. you should try royal purple synchromax but theyre like $10 a quart at kragen. ive used royal purple synchromax before on my ek civic feels alot smoother after the change.

i dunno about 3 qts. but on mine i use a lil over 2 qts and its full. and u can find the pennzoil syncro at like autozone or pep boys. about 8 bucks each. as for the plug a 3/8 rachet or breaker bar is fine. and the fill hole is right above it. fill it til it spills out. btw upgrading your clutch with a stage 3 and flywheel will not help u with your grinding.

Don't forget a funnel that has a long piece of hose on it. You're gonna need that to fill the trans, because there's no way to fit a jug of oil anywhere...plus the fill hole is horizontal.

I didn't fill it from the side like you said loudassVTEC. I just took the spedometer sensor out from the top, fit a lot funnel in there, and poured it. Although you still have to open the filler hole to know when it's full. Granted, it is a bit more work.

Just my 2 cents.

That way works also. And actually is faster, and easier. I had always done it the way I described, until about 6 months ago, when I found out about the VSS way. But my car is off the road for the time being (h double deuce swap in my DA ) , so I haven't tried it yet.
