Default 99-00 si engine harness and ecu issues

I just got this harness and ecu off of a guy on HT, guy claimed there were no problems or cut plugs. But as I got it today, that doesn't seem to be the case.

First of all this was obviously melted. How?...I noticed this plug has a little plug inside of it (as if it doesnt need to be used)...do I not need this? If I need the plug, if I just cut it off and replace it, will it be fine, or did the melting screw up the rest of the wiring? could it have messed up the ecu?

is this a missing plug? or is this how it is supposed to be?

everything else seems to be okay on the outside atleast. (who knows about under the loom)

is this green plug not supposed to plug in? because it doesn't even fit the ecu. Is this maybe a plug for automatics?

I would basically just like to figure out how screwed I am...what will I need to do to make this harness and ecu usable, and safe (i don't wanna blow or melt anything)

Thanks in advance

I think that it is just a plug that maybe the dealership can plug into for some wierd reason! I have a 00 si and the same plug is capped off and sits under the intake manifold. If the guy you got it from had a swap or diffrent motor, it might have just hung down and melted on the header or something.

possibly, but if you look closely...there was some non-factory wiring invovled...there are some wires that go to that plug that have electrical tape over them...havent take the tape off yet to look under them though. and if those wires were melted...that couldve carried along all the way through the rest of the wiring and even possibly the ecu

The plug thats in the first picture is a distribution block. Basically its metal prongs that passes power through, thats how it looks (minus the being melted part). If you pull that plug out the car wont start (there a bitch to get out though).

Those exposed prongs are suppose to be in a clip of some sort. What colors are they?

From your pictures it almost looks like you got a DX engine harness because im not seeing any VTEC clips or KS. Is there a 3P white plug, somewhere around where the TPS/MAP sensor plugs are. If so you got screwed.

That green clip goes to your dash harness to your cluster, thats the only correct thing out of the bunch.

So i would have to replace that big melted plug.

and the exposed prongs are red/blue and white/red

I dont know my sensors and plugs, so what does that 3p white plug look like, is it circular? what color wires?

so the ecu has that third section that just sits there without anything being plugged into it?

Red/Blue, White/Red should be the Crank Postition Sensor which is underneath your oil pump, if I recall correctly.
