Default How do i remove a messed up bolt???

The lower bolt near the door on the passenger fender is messed up.... i tried to unbolt it but it was stripped. when i try to unbolt it, the bolt just turns but doesnt come out. anyway i could take them out? i tried to drill into the bolt but the bolt would just spin.

edit: Not stripped, just stuck and spinning

Youre going to have a tough time ith this one...
The nut thats tacked onto the body must have come off...
At least it sounds that way, since it spins even when you try to drill.

If thats the case, jam a standard screwdriver under the washer and pry out, while you drill
OR
Just cut the end of the bolt off with a dremel or cutoff wheel - If the nut isnt attached, it will just fall out.
What you do at that point...is up to you...

I think pdiggitydogg has it right. Damn weld nuts. I had this happen on the rear UCA bolt. I had to chop a small hole in the wheel well to get access to the weld-nut so I could hold it with a wrench. Same thing happened for a bolt in my front crossmember. Cut a small hole somewhere for a wrench to fit is all I can suggest.

i believe diggity's got the right idea...if you're trying to remove the bolt and it's just spinning but not coming out...IT'S NOT STRIPPED! most likely just the weld nut on the backside came unwelded.

This product will NOT help the problem at hand. But it will help what this guy thought was the problem.
