Ok here it is. I was riding and some how besides the obvious that the terminal was too loose, the negative came off the battery. Fixed that, but now when the car is running I only get about 8 volts back to the amp power wise. But when the car is not running, I get the whole 12.6-8 volts. I'm also getting like 6.2 volts in the remote which is prolly way too much, but I doubt thats my problem with the car running and getting only 8 volts. Any help would be greatly appreciated as we guys with a banger in the car is just not the same with that bump in the trunk. lol
You should have 12v at the remote terminal, too... Check the fuse under the hood, too...

the quote means, that when you ride around with a loud system since like the first day you started driving, too not have a system just doesn't sound right. I guess it's just me.

O yeah, the fuse was the first thing I checked. Good to knw that the remote should also be 12v also. What's throwing me off is the voltage after the car is running as to when the car is off. Power wise.

I don't know if it could be called sheet metal. It would be like where your car jack would screw into be mounted tucked away kind of in the rear wheel well. That bracket looking metal, for lack of better words. I would take a pic if I knew how to post it. In front of where the fabric panel is to access the brake light bulbs and such.

By properly, I don't mean to a piece of metal that's tack welded to the body to hold your jack in...
I mean grounded to an existing bolt in the floor pan of the vehicle, preferably with paint sanded off...
You remind me of the guy that came into my shop with his ground wire stripped back 6" and wrapped around the seatback latch.
Just because it's metal, it doesn't necessarily mean it's a good ground.

that's funny. I got you. I just never had a problem with where it was until now. It's been hooked up for about a year now at the spot I mentioned. Thanks, I'll try another spot.

Post a pic of said ground...
Take the pic, upload to a site like Photobucket.com, then link to it from there, preferably using the [img][/img] tags....
