My friend has a civic hb with a b17** i dunno. it's from a 93 gsr has like 200k on it... my engine is a b18b1 with 95k. he'll swap it for me and everything. i want to feel vtec but don't want to do ls/vtec. is it worth it or should i ask him to pay me extra for it?

 

KEpp your engine and turbo it... 200k miles is bleh... if you REALLY want a old motor with less displacement then tell him to rebuild it/sleeve it and new pistons and rods... :D

 

The B17 crank is great for LS/Vtec, it has a better R/S than an LS and GSR. The vtec head/non vtec block would be great if you swapped the crank of the B17 into your LS block... but why do it... just use the B17 motor. It has vtec and a great RS, rev it to all heck.

Or you could turbo the B18b, but that's really expensive, time consuming and difficult. but you'll make great power with one.

 

if u swap motors the b17 will need to be rebuilt pretty soon.

 

Did I hear b16 pistons ? huh ?
