Hi, I'm new to Honda's , i come from american muscle. Any way i just bought a 91 Honda civic si for 800 bucks the guy told me that the car had a bent valve and didnt run to me didnt make sense but car is real clean so i get it home put brand new battery in the car find out starter is no go put a used starter in it car just cranks as it cranks I'm watching the belt jump so i was guessing times was off, so i reset timing car would fire number one then just crank so i go throe everything and i see the adjuster doesnt look right i pull out my book and it appears to be on backwards so i adjust it to way it shown in book reset the timing and fires right up is that a deal 800 bucks buddy mine said car worth 2000-2500 that true car has 95 d16 with header high flow cat magnaflow exhaust

 

pics would help, but anything for 800 is usually a deal

 

you got a pretty good deal.... and BTW our engines are whats known as interference engines.... that means if the cam timing is off far enough the piston will hit a valve and bend it... do a comp. check

get shorter spark plug wires..looks real clean tho...thats a steal in my book,just add a nice lookin stock exhaust and call it a day.

 

Yeah the wires is something the dude i got it from did I'm starting to think he don't know hole lot about cars but yeah the exhaust looks stock but its not I'm not big fan of it I'm gonna put the apexi n1 muffler on it

 

get a cheap b series engine and get a good suspension set up along with weight reduction and your car will be a blast to drive, especially in the track. those civics are really sporty and fun to drive

 

not bad for $800.

 

if all you have is 800 dollars in it then you came out like a fat rat

 

Yeah i email the guy i got it from back when i got it running he wanted to know what was wrong with it he offered me 2500 i told him no way your loss my gain i got big plans for this car lol
