Torque Specs using ARP head studs??
I remember ARP saying to torque them at 63ft lbs using there lube. Anyways it's all safe, as long as you don,t go below 63 I guess. Make sure you do a 2 or 3 step torque!
Do you have the ARP moly lube ? It will make a difference. If you use the ARP moly lube, you will torque to lower specs. Otherwise you need to use a 30 weight oil and the higher specs....
b18C ARP head studs should be torqued in the following manner:
Torque all head studs in proper sequence in a 2 stage manner.
1st pass:
With ARP moly lube: 30 ft/lbs
or
With 30 weight oil: 40 ft/lbs
2nd pass:
With ARP moly lube: 65 ft/lbs
or
With 30 wieght oil: 80 ft/lbs
**Do not torque the b18c head studs tighter than 65 ft/lbs with ARP moly lube or 80 with 30w oil.
These figures are directly from ARP, triple check by myself and takes into account the aluminum head senario.
