Default tired of my b16

ive had my b16a2 in my da for about a year. ever since i got it put in ive had one problem after another. i got it swaped by a friend of a friend. i think that was the biggest problem. im thinkin about just taking my car to a shop and putting in a b18b1. what do you guys think would be the cheapest plan of action

were do i begin. got my car back with a back master cylinder, bad motor mounts, no name stage 2 clutch, vtec wiring was crap, replaced alternator twice, burnt spark plugs, replaced same axel twice, and i think i have a bad cylinder now. i dont think i have a pressure plate with my stage 2, the release point feels like it always changes. since i put it in ive replaced all my tires within a year. i understad problems are goin to happen cuz its an old car but i rarely had problems with my stock motor

all the problems you listed were not really b16 problems if you think about it your could have all those same problems with any motor..sounds like a good swap with bad install if you ask me

Just get another b18. Those LS motors are torque monsters, you will be much faster than with the b16 anywayz.

It seems like this guy wants something new as if the new has worn completely off of his car. He doesn't seem comfortable at all.

My advice is to figure out what it is that you want, and then determine if you are capable of doing whatever it is that you want to do. If you are capable of doing it, then do it.

i dropped the b16 in cuz at the time i thought i was gettin a good price for it (900) and my old motor had over 250,000 miles on it and started to feel sluggesh. i have no problem with having a b16 in my car. it pulls pretty nice. i had a 97 ls in my old 90 integra with header and i felt it pulled harder. but i live in moreno valley and for the last month our 2 theres been check points on weekends for drunk drivers. i dont want to hit one and them to see my car, tell me to pop my hood, see my motor, and tow it cuz of it. all im tryin to do is get my car to be reliable since im goin to school. what would be the best plan of action.

Of course an LS is going to feel faster it has more torque and its going to take off the line quicker but its no faster than your b16. They have completly different HP/TQ numbers than each other but when all said and done the are the just as "fast" as one another.

Also, I would not take it to a shop they are going to charge you alot of money to fix it. You would be better off buying a complete swap yourself and putting everything in yourself. Swaping a b series to b series is really easy it just takes time if its your first time. When I did my first swap I my knowladge level of cars was pretty low, afterwards I learned alot.

You sir have no idea what your talking about. You typed 2 sentences that are completly useless and wrong information.

The LS motors are in no way a "Torque Monster" that phrase should probably be banned from honda-tech or banned for use in the same sentance as anything to do with a honda.
