What VSS To Get? OBD0 B16. Do D16 vss's work?
So aparently when I was doing my tranny swap I snapped my vss
The motor is a obdo b16 with the cable vss. Kind of an odd looking unit
Since I snapped the cable, whats the easiest cheapest replacement I can swap in?

if its just the cable then get a new cable the stock cable works fine. From what you first said I thought you broke off the part with the gear that the cable goes in, on top of the tranny. if that did break you can put a d series one in
90-91 Teg VSS.
It's for a B series so it works great on your B series tranny.
Go get another cable from a 88-91 Civic.
I've had to replace both of mine. If you don't put that clip in you can wear your cable out faster.

Thats what I thought to, but theres more to it I guess
I broke the cable because I COULD NOT REMOVE it from the tranny, I removed the little c-clip like Ive done on other cars, and the dam thing just wouldnt yank out
So I dropped the trans wit it connected trying to be careful but it broke anyways
So, I dunno if I can even get this dam thing outta there....
What should I do?

You may have to get a 91 teg speedo cable too. The stock 88-91 Civic/Crx maybe a tad short...been a while since I did my swap but I remember buying a teg speedo cable.

Dip the whole thing in Diesel over night. It should remove all the dirt and grim and make it easier for you to pull it out.
I just don't know if there are bearing in the unit, and if it will affect the bearings, but I've had very good luck with soaking parts in diesel to clean them up and loosen stuck on parts.
But to be honest, VSS just sit in trannies at a wrecking yard. It might be easier to simply go get a new one from there (5 finger discount ftw).

Well thats why I wanted to know if a d16 one worked, I'll just grab both the cable and the unit itself at once if it does

Maybe you didnt read the question bone, I simply removed the c lip and tried to pull the vss cable out, didnt budge so I left it, dropped the tranny with it connected and it snapped
I can probably just undo the bolt on the VSS unit thing and the whole unit comes out doesnt it?>

yes, take the bolt out and clean off all the crud underneath with some brake cleaner, then soak it with some silicone or other spray lubricant because there is a rubber o-ring that holds it in. then give it a couple minutes and try to pry it up. If yours was from the integra and has the power steering hose nipples on it, you can ditch that one and use a d-series one as well.
