I know this is a noob question but i have a 2000 gsr and how do i use the trunk latch?

As long as the doors aren't locked, just slide the lever on the hatch to the left and it will unlatch. You can also use the key in the keyhole to open the hatch.

yeah it doesnt work. is it becuase of my alarm. i use the key to open it.

put key in twist to right and open latch. thats how mine is i guess the 98+ trunks never work.

The key should open it regardless because it's purely mechanical. If the doors have been electronically locked with the switch (or an alarm), the lever won't work. Depending upon how your alarm is wired, I suppose it's possible that it's interfering with the operation of the hatch release.

mines the same. The lever seems pointless. Turn the key to the right and hold it there while you lift the hatch with your other hand.

This is how my friends worked , and how it was when he got it . No clue why ..

Mine I just use the latch .. 98 GSR

and I never had to use the keys but to start the car (keyless entry)

and wow mt joy, local guy good to see

you have to put the key in and turn it all the way, then you have to turn it just a bit more till it kinda of just ticks. and when it "ticks" you gota lift the hatch up while the key is in the position. thats how mine is. the lever doesnt do crap for me.

my 2000 latch also has never worked, kind of annoying when someone needs to get in the trunk when the car is on, but eh whatcha gunna do
