Hi, wondering if it was a good idea to install my dropzone springs shocks/struts ive never done it before, never even seen it done but done some research on it. Is it hard, any help would be awsome.

 

You'll need all the proper tools, including a SPRING COMPRESSOR possibly. Also, if you've never done this before, you should make sure you've got some time for the project, just in case it goes FUBAR for some reason and you need some extra time.

 

Ya, you probably won't expletive it up...and I doubt you'll get completely confused...just get a spring compressor and allow urself extra time and it should go peachy. It'd be easier if you had a lift - you don't - floor jack's fine.

yeah my buddy told me i might be able to use a clamp of some sort instead of a compressor. not sure tho

 

its easy, my first time it took me 2 hrs

 

Did mine on a lunch break with the help of a friend who works at a Firestone.

 

Those clamps are spring compressors, but they can be kinda dangerous. Just make sure they are on really good before you take that top nut off. I didn't like them when I used them because the coils wanted to kink up and it was a bitch to get the clamps back off again.

 

i cheaped out and used ratcheting tie down straps. Worked like a charm for me.

Hard to find spring compressors for our cars around here.

THe hardest part u will run into is the bolt that holds the shock on. more than likely it will be ceased. Search around, you will find alot of threads about it.

 

No need for spring compressor. My brother and I duel at 10 paces with loaded springs.

If you had adjustable coils, youd be able to do it no prob without any type or compressor or clamps.

 

no spring compressor nessacary
just the right tools
a 12, 14 , 17 , lug wrench obviously jack ect, the axel nut i think is a 32 34?? dont remember and i think thats it ohh and mayeb a 10 for the brake line bolts but its not hard i did it my first time in 30 mins but i had all the right tools and an idiot friend to push down on my hubs when needed

Why would you take off the axle nut to do springs?

 

ok let me ask this...I already have coilovers and i think imma need a strut in the front soon or im just goin to replace it b/c it looks like its goin to be a problem soon....will I need to do anything besides remove the strut and coilover and replace the strut??

haha im retarded i had just finished posting something about changing axels lol and for somereason that poped into my head

 

uh i used simple tools when changing my springs and coilovers. ratchet, a metal pole for more leverage, i dun rememba the size sockets but i believe its 12,14,17. jack stand and floor jack. and as for spring compressor i didnt use it i just shot the spring at a wall. pretty simple.
