I was driving today, at about 45mph and the check engine light came on. The car has about 137k miles, and is running great, and I have no idea what could be wrong. I installed an aftermarket intake a week or 2 ago, not sure if that could be the problem. Anything common happen when you get up to high mileage?
Should I put the stock airbox back on and take it to the dealer?

yeah when i put my intake on the CEL came on. went to the dealership and it turned out that the wire coming from the intake became frayed somehow? but they fixed it and put the code in to turn the light off. about $60

It said I have a catalyst efficiency. I assume my catalytic converter is about to crap out. Is this something that I should replace immediately? We don't have emission testing or anything where I live..

lol, you serious? drive it. nothing wrong with it, just a bad o2 sensor (or bad cat), i got this same code on tuesday, checked it yesterday, and its the same code. replace o2 sensors first, if it is still on, it's the cat. it won't break your car, you'll just pollute more then usual.
CEL checkup is free at advance auto parts. i deleted mine at the same time.

i had the same problem when i put an intake on my car. what happened was that the sensor on the intake wasnt all the way in. i pushed it in again and drove it around for a little and it shut off within an hour or so. so check the sensor.

Yeah, I took it to AutoZone and got the CEL checked out yesterday. I'm thinking it's the secondary o2 sensor, because it feels the same to drive and all, but I don't know. My dad's letting me drive the car now, since I explained it to him. He was just angry from work or something
. I'll check my MAF sensor too, it's kind of streaching to get there.

glad you can drive it though, it doesn't affect anything.
