Default Rotor Longevity

Whats the longest you have gone before having to change rotors? I went to Autozone to get a set of the lifetime rotors and they only offer a 2 year warranty now.

Damn. I guess I'll just end up scraping the **** out of them and warrantying them every 364th day after the first year.

Why would you be concerned with the longevity of a part that is required to safely opperate your vehicle? Brakes are on of the areas a of my car that I will not worry about getting the "longest lasting", or "best priced" parts. I simply look for a reliable product, that has a proven reputation for being safe and durable. I think 40k miles can be ahieved on just about any rotor, so long as they are not warped or otherwise miss-shappen... you will likely get even more miles than that depending on your brake pads, and whether or not you resurface the area each pad change.

With all of that said (and to answer your question): My OEM rotors saw 92k miles before they were replaced. I have since changed the rotors twice (in 58k miles).

That's called "fraud" and it's illegal. It's also dishonest and WRONG.

Remind me never to buy a car or any car parts from you.

I work at an auto parts store, I know a bad rotor from a "frauded" rotor and the truth of the matter is that management does not care whether or not the damage is self inflicted or if it occurred on its own. Thanks for the life lesson dad
