Default Timing Belt

Ok guys timing belt broke on my h22 motor in my 96 accord when i was on the highway. When i was coming down the highway the car just shuts off completly with no signs at all. I had this happen to my f22b1 motor and when my timing belt snapped it sounds like someone threw a bunch of rocks in the engine. So i took the car to the dealership to check to see if the valves where bent (that's right check?) so they said it had no bent valves. The h22 did not sound like that it just shut off. So was their any permenent damage done?? I went to honda and bought a whole timing belt kit with the water pump seals and the whole nine. So i'm goin to put it on tonight to see if i had any bent valves.

put your motor at tdc and put compressed air into the chambers, if its bent the air will be coming out somewhere either the intake side or exhaust side

you don't have to do leak down. just do compression test.

ok guys i done the whole 9 with the timing belt thing but there is more. We had the issue of the motor turning as we was doin the timing belt. So what we done is to stop the motor from turning we had to stop the pressure plate and the flywheel from rotating. Come to find out we get some rattling noises like a bunch of rocks in the tranny where we put the bar between the pressure plate and the flywheel. I know this is my first time doing this so i will be pulling the tranny tommorrow to do the pressure plate and maybe the flywheel. It's always something with this car. but u learn from ur mistakes.

i had the same problem with mine. snapped the t-belt on the freeway. nothing happend to my motor. do a compression check. if the numbers are low then do a leakdown test. listen for air coming out of the intake manifold (intake valves are bad) the exhaust (exhaust valves are bad, radiator cap (head gasket problem) or oil dipstick tube (bad rings)

you set one of the cylinders to tdc and fill it with air. listen for air coming out one of the areas i listed in a post above. after you do that set another cylinder at tdc and to the same thing and so forth with the rest of the cylinders

ok now that i have started the car up and it ran. The next day i went out to start it back up. no signs of starting it up or even any spark coming from the plugs. did the car jump timing by any chance and mess up the distrubitor? (spelling is not good at this point). I don't understand because i took it around the block to see what it will do and when i got it back it ran for a couple of minutes and shut off.
