bent valves?
The timing belt on my B18A skipped big time and I think that I bent some valves. I don't know how it skipped so much (5 teeth), because the timing belt is still pretty new. I know that the only real ways of knowing if you're valves are bent is to do either a compression test, or to pull the head and visually inspect them. Also, while manually turning the engine, I noticed a sound that sounded like an air leak. It kinda sounded like a ball that is deflating. Is this an indication of bent valves? I did have the sparkplugs in the motor as I turned it. . Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Well 5 teeth is probably just enough to get the timing off, so the motor wont run. That sound is probably becasue the valves are partially open when they should be fully closed. I would replace the timing belt, and see if it starts. If the damage is already done, then you have only waste a few hours. You will need the new belt anyway. I wouldnt trust that belt. I would also look at the tensioner.
