Please help!! H22A4 OBDII engine swap to OBDI car
I want to drop my old engine from a 5th gen Prelude with an H22A4 OBDII into my brother's 92 Prelude with an F22 OBDI engine. And the whole thing is going to be AUTOMATIC. All I'm doing is just to drop the H22A4 engine only, I'm planning to use the F22's alternator, power steering, ac compressor, motor mounts.....I'm just wondering, have any of you done this before? And do you think it's possible? As for the wiring, what should i do? I need all the help I can get. Thanks for your time
since you've recently joined, alot of people here including me will tell you search. Most of your threads will probably go unanswered because jerks prefer to read and hate than to help.
OK heres the deal ive already done this plus a h23/h22 hybrid so i can cover you main two probs. Yes it will bolt right up but your going to run into a few problems. Your going to have to run a p13 ecu and the h22a4 is like you said obd2 so your going to need to run a obd1 h22 dist(to explain this the obd2 h22 has a crank position sensor that your p13 ECU wont recognize so in running a obd1 dist it bypasses the need for it because it dousnt look for it) and because this car was a f22 your going to have to run the v-tec pressure switch and selonoid(thats prob not spelled right) wires. I beleive there are already posts on here about how to do that but if you cant find them pm me and ill send you a full schematic as i have a manual on it.
