Not sure what you mean by larger LCA's?
you mean larger swaybars??

this looks like a beaks kit type of thing..

which I think people have already figured out aren't even that great of protection..

anything that mounts directly to the subframe is sketchy in my opinion.

progress bars mount to the lca bolt, not the subframe, and are completely safe. They don't even have any beefy bracket, but the mounting location is super strong.

Tiebars/mounts that connect bothsides together(like asr or comptech) are also really good, no way for one side to break free from the other so it should be safe...

but strengthening a mounting point that shouldn't have any stress on it in the first place isn't a very good idea in my opinion..

Integra Type R LCA's or a set of Aftermarket LCA's that may be larger.

If you can track down any problems with this type of setup, please post. In my opinion and research it is just a lie that everyone follows. You can find many people running this type of kit on a daily basis, running bars upto 22 mm, autocrossing, and have no problems. I would think that if you do have a problem, the problem was there before you installed them.

If you are interested in a DIY TieBar, SwayBar mounting follow my other thread, it is still in progress...

First you elude that the subframe is not a good place to distribute the load, say that you are better off with a tiebar combo, then tell me that there is no load there in the first place. I have to say that this merry-go-round was fun for me, but I think I'll get off now.

Anyone else interested in more info, such as different CAD files, or if you have any questions, please just PM me, I'm gonna take a nap.

The weak part was not the sway bar, just the hardware.

Did anyone notice that the Progress Sway bar bolts are not Grade 8 bolts?

It doesn't even look like grade 5.

Even if they supplied with new bolts I would not use it unless it's a Grade 8 bolt.

How is that different from the design of the Beaks kit?

I believe, and I may be wrong, that Progress supplies Metric hardware just like ASR does, and Metric doesn't have Grade's. They are Classes of hardness, 6.8 8.8 10.8, etc. without the gold shine the Grade 8 has, and the ones they supply should be close to or stronger, since Metric is generally stronger anyway, than Grade 8.

Here is a little reading for your pleasure.

Not all Grade 8 bolts have that gold shine to it. Metric bolts are both measured in Grade and Class under the ISO 898.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bolted_joint

Autozone sells the Grade 8 bolts the one with the black packaging and it has the class 10.9 stamp on the head which should be =/+ then Grade 8.

never really thought of bolts as an issue when it comes to swaybars.

its easy to overlook but a sway bar is a giant spring and it can only be held in place as good as the weakest object cant hold it...sometimes the subframe lets go, sometimes the brackets, sometimes the bolts, all depending on whats weakest
