help!?!?! my car wont start, electrical prob...
okay, so i accidently touched the positive side of the battery to my firewall & melted a whole. I moved it back & it started up fine, drove it to checkers & parked it in the driveway. later i drove it into the garage.
This morning i get up to start it, i get nothing, like you would when a starter goes out, so i try jumping it & still get nothing.
heres some other things i noticed,
1)when i try to start it, the cooling fan goes on...
2)my afc doent turn on like it usually does...
3)when i jump the starter(jump the wires on the starter), the cooling fan turns on, & the starter doent crank...
4)the fuel pump doesnt prime
5)all the gauge, srs, cel, seatbelts lights come on like they should

Sounds like you fried a relay or fuse somewhere. The AFC get's power from the ECU, when you turn key does your dash light up as usual? Do you hear the pump prime? If not, your ECU isn't powering up (ECU fuse), if so and your AFC still doesn't turn on, check the wiring at the ECU.
check the big battery fuse under the hood....the 80amp one that's held in with 2 screws

where is the pump fuse????
there is power going to the ECU, & the vafc isnt powering up. I even tried hooking it up directly, still nothing from it. So i removed the vafc.
the 80amp fuse is good. All of the underhood/dash fuses are good.

problem solved, It was a bad ground somewhere. I just grounded the motor again & that solved everything
