Yes i read the thread up top and did all the steps but when i turn on the ignition and the cel light comes on with the paperclip in it it just blinks like 2 seconds and keeps blicnking every 2 seconds and doesnt stop. i dont get it.

 

SHORT flashes are single digits (1/2 second or less)
LONG flashes are 10's (1 second)

the flashing repeats for as long as you have the jumper in place and ign on.
sounds like you have either a 1 (one short flash) or 10 (one long flash)

 

yeah it just blinks like 1 time every 2 seconds and never stops till i turn it off. so would that be a 1 or 10?
the car is a 1995 civic ex with obd1 jdm gsr

It depends on how long the flashes are, so it's hard to say without actually being there to see it in person.

 

A slow blink is the first digit, a fast blink is the second digit. So for example a code 56 would have 5 slow blinks followed by 6 fast blinks, and the process will continue over and over until you pull the key out of the ignition.

Yes, we've already established that. Again, if it's a short flash, it's a code 1. If it's a longer flash, it's a code 10. That's really all there is to it.

 

Wouldn't a code 10 be ten long blinks since the second digit is zero? I thought the first slow blink is the first digit and the following fast blinks was the second digit? Anyhow, if it just blinks once with no other blinks following right away, it's safe to say that your code is 1.

I believe the indictor uses a 10's and 1's system. For example, a code 17 would be one long flash (the 10's column) and 7 short flashes (the ones column). Thus, a 10 would be one long flash, a 20 would be two long flashes, etc.

 

Yea you're correct. That makes sense. I just got confused on the difference between a code 10 and 1.
