I've noticing lately that my car makes a slight jerk everytime let go off the gas pedal.

For example, if giving it some gas and move on about 15mph and then let go, the car will make a slight jerk and I hear some sort of fast screeching sound. What can cause this?

PS: I have a base lude w/ manual transmission.

 

bad motor mounts.. the rubber on the inside is probably gone or going.. mine was doing that... go under the hood when the engine is cold and pull on the intake manifold.. gently ofcourse.. if its bad enough you might hear the same metallic screeching sound that you described...

mine was doing the same thing.. only worse.. I got energy suspension polyurithane inserts and now the engine doesnt move... no jerking.. although you feel the engine idle a lot more in the car now.. but it feels perfect when shifting/accellerating and best of all no screech

 

I see. So you didn't actually replace the motor mounts, you just replaced the inserts?

 

yea the inserts were only 50 bucks i believe. But.. i had a local garage put them in for me and the labor was kind of steep came to 210 in labor :\ but im happy about my purchase.. couldn't have done them myself cuz i dont have enough jackstands and jacks or an engine hoist to do this job safely.
