i have a 99 dx coup that still has the stock non vtec motor i it. my question is i am putting a ls swap in it and i need to know what to do about the mounts? i dont think i can swap it rite over cause the mounts dont look anything like any b-series i have ever seen. will i have to cut the mounts off the frame and weld in new ones? or would it be easier to just put a single cam vtec in it and boost it?

Go with the swap, just get the appropriate mounts.

 

what year ls are u swapping in. you can us stock si mounts or buy swap mounts, but you also need the si t bracket for the back mount and the si driver mount bracket that bolts to the block. And you will have to do a iac fix, but thats gotta be done either way you go, single cam vtec or b series.

 

aic? and its the frame side bracket im worried about. it doesnt look anything like any honda mount i have seen??? i will see if i can get a pic

 

if you swap the LS in what do you plan on doing to it?? gonna turbo it or are u gona go LS/VTEC??

yeah youll have to swap the drivers side upper mount, and also use the 99 si t mount in the rear.

also the earlier poster was talking about the iac valve which he is talkign about changing 2 wire to 3 wire hook ups ..... searching is your friend

well my friend has a single cam turbo set up and a ls swap he said he would sell me one of them im just trying to find the easies rout. if i get the single cam vtec turbo set up i will be replacing the pistons and rods and getting the head rebuilt. im thinking i want the single cam. i just searched for the iac valve and i cant find anything on going from 2 to 3 wire?
