Default Strange problem / running rich

I'm doing an LS/VTEC swap and had a P05 chipped and converted by Katman. He deleted the knock sensor and O-2 sensor and (re-mapped the fuel and air curve) I'm not a chipping GURU so be nice.

My problem is I'm runnig way to rich. At first I had RC310's and later switched to back to stock, thinking that was the problem. It didn't help. I'm using an AFR and its set to 40psi. Compression is good acroos the board.

The strange part is: I had my MAP sensor wires switched with my TPS wire, but threw no code. Regardless of the way I have them I get no code. The car actually runs better with the switched until the plugs foul out.

I'm wondering if I hook up my VAFC2 if I can trim down the fuel so it would not be so rich?

Thanks guys.

When you buy a chipped ecu for a 310cc injector its going to run richer then with stock injectors. Basemaps are just to get you to a dyno, there not ideal to drive on.

Can I trim down the fuel with the VAFC. So I can atleast drive it because at this point it won't even rev above 2000 rpm.

Yes, with the VAFC you will be able to edit the fuel settings, but again, if you are not a tuning guru, you wont really know what you are lookin at when you are using the VAFC

actually when you change to smaller injectors you will be running lean.
the 310 flow more then the stock so they have a smaller injector pulse to stay open
putting in the smaller injectors with lower fuel flow will allow less fuel into the motor on the same pulse as the 310.

it may be in your map sensor. it controls the flow of the injectors. if the map is off it will dump fuel. make sure your wiring is correct.

^ opps yea your right, leaner not rich. Either way he should get it tuned to fix his problems.

I am getting it tuned as soon as it's "driveable" so I can make it to the dyno.

Thank's for the help in dealing with the fuel problem, but now I'm wondering about the TPS and MAP wires being crossed and not throwing a code... or running better when crossed for that matter.

Just to add: with the wires crossed I can loosen the TPS and turn it and you can here a difference in the engine ideal. That makes me belive they may be hooked up right. (I know about calibrating the TPS tp 4.5v).

But why doesn't it throw the code regardless of which way I hook the wires up.
