Default Wont idle for some reason...

As topic states...my itr wont idle by itself. it starts fine, no hesitation, but as soon as i let the foot off the gas..it just dies, whether im driving or standing still. I checked the connections in the engine bay..and i havent spotted anything weird...and theres no check engine light on either.
Its a 96 spec with the original motor.

thanks in advance

Last time I had a problem like this, it turned out that I had bad rings. Rings were bad so it couldnt hold compression. Do a compression check to get things started off.

sounds scary...since i just had the motor rebuild 1000+kms ago. If it were rings..wouldnt the car run like crap overall too? cause in this case it doesnt.. drives fine, no problems at all, it just wont hold an idle..

Check all your grounds (Tranny, Thermostat, Valve Cover).

If it is your IACV, your car just won't idle properly. It won't shut off.

Wrong.

i just got another IACV, works perfect again, thats all that was. So anyone out there with the same problem, remember to check this valve first thing.

$0.00 , i went back to the place i went to get my motor rebuilt (Point Zero), and they replaced it with another one they had there, so its not brand new, but it does the job for now.

I'm having this problem too now. I cleaned out the throttle body and injectors. Was good for a couple weeks but now when I come to a stop the car just stalls out most of the time. Going to buy another IACV and see what happens.
