Default Z6 motor into a 96-98 civic

hello,
I am new to posting here but have used the site for about 2 years. I have searched for the answers I need, havent found them so I am posting. I have a 93 Z6 motor and a 98 ex shell. I was wondering If all the motor mounts are the same. anyone else done this swap? any pointers? I have an ob1 to obd2a conversion harness. I will be using a p28. I know I need to swap a few things around like rewiring for the obd1 dizzy and injectors.....any more help would be greatly apprecited.....also links to any threads explaing more into this swap would be awesome!! thanks in advance!! love the site and glad to be a member finally!!

I have a z6 and a y8 (both bare blocks), and from what i can see they both use the same mounting points. Should drop in. What harness are you using? You cant go from obd1 to obd2 and use the p28.

I am using the Y8 harness....it matches up to the p28 fine with that harness. I have been looking at pics of 98 civics and the mount for the tranny seems to be a little different. not to sure though??? anyone?

you do know that with the y8 harness and the z6 engine you are going to have left over plugs

and from what i found out wen i put the y8 in my car the p28 wants a IAT sensor and the y8 didn't have one you might have to wire that in

and about the mounts the y8 that is made for your car went into mine no problem so i can't see an issue going the other way.

Make sure you put on the Y8 dizzy to the Z6 motor. ANd you will get a CEL for no Crank Angle Sensor if you still use the OBD2 Y8 ecu. (p2p?)

The Y8's IAT was in the intake arm...so there's definitely a plug for it in his engine bay.

Did you re-use your existing Z6 mounts...or all Y8...or a mix-match?

A P28 doesn't look for one...and that's what he's using.

I havent dropped th motor in yet, because the shell is missing the passenger side mount, that attaches to the tranny....It appears that in the pics I have looked at, that the mounts are somewhat opposite from the 92-95 to the 96-98. on the z6 the rubber part of the mount is on the tranny, but on the 98's it looks like the rubber part of the mount is on the chassis....is this right?
