Getting Code 6 (Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor) couple days after swap!
The cars is an 88 Crx Dx, a MPFI swap was done this past weekend with a D15B7 from a 95 Civic Dx running a PM6 ecu and Dizzy. There was no codes when the engine was pulled from the 95 Civic.
When the swap was done i did not have the right ECT plug due to the differrences between both motors so i could not connect it, the original DX motor has the ECT sensor on the back of the block where the D15b7 is on the thermostat housing.
I would get a check engine light intermitently but after a couple days it stayed on.
Went to the junkyard to get the right plug and extended the wire to the thermostat housing but still getting code 6, my car boggs when i give it gas in the morning when i start the car and does not idle a bit high like a cold motor is supposed to.
My rad. fan also does come on.
Any Suggestions! I have to get my car smogged this week. Thanks!

The ect on b16 is under the dizzy, I think you have it hooked to the fan switch. some how i'm not surprised. it's probably bush’s fault

Its a D15B7 not a B16 and i'm not exactly sure what you mean when you say i have it hooked to the fan swicth, this is the plug that connects on the thermostat housing.
I tried to correct the problem but still code 6 so what i did for temporary solution was connect the two wires together (black and yellow/green) but my fan stays on all the time.

Replaced the ECT sensor and still getting code 6, has anybody successfully fixed a code 6 before?
Should i check my wiring? Which wires should i check?
I'm not sure what's going on at this point.
Any help would be appreciated!

It sounds like abnaasefmb already gave you the answer.
There are 3 engine temp sensors on your engine. The one in the thermostat housing is your radiator fan switch. There is a 1 prong sensor on the side of the head by the dizzy that controls your temp gauge. There is also another 2 pin switch on the side of your head which is your ECT sensor that the ECU looks for.
Make sure that your ECT plug is not connected to the Rad Fan swith. Otherwise you'll need to find a service manual to figure out where the ECT circuit.

A pic. of the ECT sensor that the ecu looks for would be nice, i thought the ECT sensor is the one on the thermostat housing, correct me if i'm wrong.

okay so come to find out the ect sesnor is towards the front of the head with 2 wires which i have not change.
Does anybody know if a bad ect sesnsor would cause the motor to have a hard time starting when my engine is cold?

my roommate did that ****, because he didn't pay attention to detail, so after a 3 hr swap the engine was throwing the ect code. i looked at the wires and sure enough he put the wrong plug in the wrong place , just because it fits doesn’t mean it belongs there, for the love of god it was color coded. Not saying yours was, I only know b16s, that’s why I was not more adamant. But I can tell you that night I was pissed off, I was like blue sensor-blue plug, black sensor-black plug (color blind &*%^%)
Yeah, come to find it was a bad connection, the bouncing from the suspension eventually disconnected and thats why the cel came on intermittently and then stayed when the wire broke.
