what grit sandpaper?
ok so im repainting my cheapo ebay intake it was blue i want it red. mainly because i cant find all the bolts for my stock one or else id put that in. but anywho. the paint im using is just some rattle can caliper spray. but i tried painting it once in my garage and i didnt even think about it being cold and it ran the crap out of it. i know wetsanding wouldnt work so im thinking just get some 120 grit bring it down as best as i can and respray would that work? or would you guys recomend 80 or hell even like 320? thanks
if you want get some 220 grit sand paper sand it down
then you spray LIGHT coats of spray paint on LIGHT coats so it does run
it might take like 6 coats but it will be even and not have any runs!
then you can sand that down with like 1000 or so to get a smooth finish or you can just keep it after sprayed its your choice but when you sand the paint wetsand and make sure you dont burn through the paint or you will have to respray

yeah ive already come to terms with the fact that im wetsanding and clearing it. i just wasnt sure what grit to use. i feel kinda dumb for not even thinking and painting when it was cold. oh well at least i put down some cardboard so it didnt drip on the carpet i have in the garage lol. i think i might just use my gun tho. strap on my mask and see what i can come up with.
