so you want to sand off the current paint and use the stock original paint thats still under the current ugly paint...hahaha...

thats gonna be hard to do maybe...i'd use some sort of "light" paint remover with a wet cloth to wipe away fast and do small areas for the quickest results...but i wouldnt recommend it to you...someone else might have a better idea...and when i meant light remover i mean paint remover that isn't strong to strip both coats of paint...

No you cant do that sir. When you come accross a mistake like this the best way to fix the problem is to take the paint completly off the car and repaint it. A lof ot people will sand down where its chipping and feather edge it in, however; it will start to peel again.... The best advice I would give to you is apply aircraft paint remover over all the metal body parts and cover it with plastic let it sit for several hours come back and wash it off. The rest like plastic and fiberglass just sand with 120/220/320 then seal and primer then 500 then paint the whole car base coat. To me thats the only way to do it...

Here is a time where paying a shop to do it will turn out the best. The reason is because they will more than likely under price it and they have to cover their work under warranty. If they do it shity and it starts to peel again send it back...

omg I never suggest using chemical stripper only as a last resort. Just sand off all the nasty crap until you get back down to the original paint. Original paint is normally a good base to build from. He never said the original paint was chipping. Just stated that the new paint was horrible.

wow we dictate our opinions often! lol why no chemical paint removal? I can strip a fender hood truck lid and most of rear qt panels in with almost no labor and while the paint stipper does its job I'm sanding the doors rooms and jambs.

I wouldnt use the paint remover with the parts on the car, If you get that shiz on trim, molding, electrical components, or any kind of silicone/rubber you are hurting. I find it worth the while to remove the parts use paint remover and pressure washer... but precisionsc54 hates my way of doing things!! lol
