replace your rear brake shoes and tighten your cable as explained in the haynes manual.

I got the same prob, but mine doesn't really work. I was told to tighten something on the drums (forget) and they said the drums don't really go bad that often (?).

I had that exact same problem with my ebrake, it would only hold one side half *** and the other side would just spin. I'm sure your cables are over stretched like mine were and might have to get new ones.

What you can try doing is adjusting them, On the E brake there is a access panel you can take off and get to a 10MM nut, righty tighty left loosey...If that doesn't help then you're going to need new cables.

there is an adjustment on the shoes itself...the starwheel u either flip it up or down to adjust tighter...thats what you guys should be adjusting first before messing with the cable to the handle...

Thanks, do you know if any parts in the rear drums ever need to be replaced, or how often? my ebrake doens't hold for **** and I heard that the drums rarely need to be replaced..

well usually the springs, starwheel do not need to be replaced....but the shoes itself does. the shoes are just like front pads.....there is certain amount and wears down as you go longer. usually the rears go probably 2 times longer then the fronts.. i would look at how thick the shoes are...if the shoes are still pretty thick...u probably just need a really good adjustment...when i got my CRX, the ebrake cable was very high...and it was barely holding. took off the drum, adjusted a lot of turns on starwheel on both sides, AND then the ebrake was a lot tighter. instead of going up 10-12 clicks to be tight, it went up like 3 or 4 tight and holding.
