Just as the title says, I replaced my axle today. The majority of the clicking went away with the new axle but there is still a slight tick in right turns. What else can cause this?
if ur car is pretty low, then make sure the wheel well splash gaurd isnt rubbing against ur tire.. it happend to me after i replaced my cv axles and i guess for some reason i had it loose and it was rubbin againt my tire. other then that maybe u just got a defective axel , which would suck
its probably your other axle..inspect it see if the boots are cracked...if not go ahead and replace it and see what happens..I did that once..I had a really loud clicking noise...replaced one axle.come to find out it was the other one lol...if that doesnt fix it you can always take the axle back and say you didnt use it and take the other one back to and say its defective and they will give you another one for free

It's not a defective axle, it did this same thing the last time I replaced it as well. And it only clicks when I turn right, so it's doubtful that its the drivers side axle.
As far as the splash guard rubbing, I wouldn't be feeling the clicking in the gas pedal if it was the splash guard.
Guess the only thing to do is try to replace the driver's side one or just live with it

well if you have a bad axle it can click no matter which way you turn..try to replace that one and see if that goes away...if not it could be a bad wheel bearing they tend to click also when they go bad

You can feel the clicking coming from the front right wheel so it's highly doubtful its the driver side axle. What's involved with replacing the wheel bearing? Never tackled this before.

well...im guessing you have a 5th gen since your in the CD squad as I am..so in that case you have to either a) get your hub pressed out of the bearing or b) use a hub puller to get the hub out of the bearing...you have to take the front four bolts off of the hub which is almost impossible without an impact wrench...then you must pull the hub out and then you have to take the four bolts on the back of the hub so the bearing is free to come out..and you will prob have to hammer it out because they are in there fairly tight...then put the new one in..put the four bolts on the back on..put your rotor on and then press the hub back in and put the four bolts back on...its fairly simple..but most of the time a hub puller doesnt work especially if you live in rainy areas or where it snows a lot..so you will probably have to get the hub pressed out..a shop will probably charge you 10 bucks to do that if you take the hub assembly to them off of your car...thats definently could be it..I can remember a while back I had a bad left front wheel bearing and it made some clicking noise...replacedit and it was gone
just try pulling on your wheel while its on your car. if the wheel bearing is shot the wheel will move a little. but it also could move a bit because a bad ball joint. so if it moves try to figuer out where it is coming from.
i had the same problem and it ended up being the factory hubcap was cracked (the lug nuts hold the hub cap on). when i turned at just the right speed it made the same noise as a bad axle. if you have aluminum wheels then it might be serious but if you got steel wheels take the cheap@ss hubcaps off and take it for a spin to see if it goes away
are the axels rebuilt or new rebuilt axels are old axels with worn cv joints all the do in most cases is clean them new grease new boots still same worn joint or both axels are making noise and you only fixed one side there are axels out there that are new chepper then factory take the axel out get a new onw they should have a warr good luck
i replaced both my axles. then i noticed i heard a clicking when turning. it turned out one of the axles were bad, so i had to change the driverside one again, then it went away.
maybe its like me and one of the axles are bad. if it clicks in the turns, then you can almost bet on it that its the axle.

Okay, little update. Haven't replaced anything until I know for sure exactly what it is that's causing the clicking. I've also noticed the clicking whenever I hit dips in the road (traveling straight). Does this help anyone in determining exactly what's going on here?
