Your opinions: Fastest way down the track, boost control or slew rate control?
From playing with the new, I've made up my mind. Just curious what everone thought about this, two identical cars, one runs staged boost, the other runs wide totally closed wg but use slew rate calculated timing retard to keep the wheels from spinning?.
Totally closed WG? thats a lot of timing retard and/or some nice hook.
Slew rate if properly done is better, although is it legal in the race classes?

yes, engine speed compared to vss as used in motec, aem, digital 7, etc...

thats what i thought you were talking about...i was going to set my aem boost control up on a rear speed sensor for this season but to come to find out that not legal either

I was asked about this also, but I cannot find a specific line prohibiting it.

i picked the nhra rule book line by line and saw a section prohibition 5th wheel sensors(wheelie bar, and/or optical), but vss was limited to factory style, which makes a normal hall on the rear wheel ok, right?

I know of a car thats using the slew feature in there digital 7. They didn't say they were using it but there tuner couldn't stop talking about it. The car is very successful. But it may be legal for the way there using it cause it doesn't require a wheel sensor to be activated. Theres always more than one way to skin a cat. Lets take the 10.5 outlaw class for example. These guys have way to much power for that tire. They do alot of there adjustments through timing. Not boost.

That's really what brought this up. A LOT of the 10.5 guys run the turbo wtfo and slow the car down with timing with a dig7.
