Valve Problem....... White carb build up on valves, looking through exhaust port ? what this mean?
I have a 98 GSR, I am curious I got the motor from a friend. It smokes, I know it also burns oil, and a leaky head gasket.
Now my question I pulled the header and looking through the exhaust ports and the vavles have this white crust, like carb build up on them. What does this mean?
Could that be a reason it smokes, or is burning oil? or is that just cause of the rings our bad, the motor runs good, pulls hard just curious of what this means.

ok,
now wont the comp test the valves and the headgasket.....
also when doing this comp test what is the correct comp, and isnt like each cly is allowed 10-20 difference any more would mean that something is wrong with the valve..
