Default Dual Bend Shifter

Other than a short shifter, like the Skunk2 that gets such good reviews, is there any way to get a dual bend application in a CRX without the shorter throw?

I noticed the other day in comparison to my friend's 89 Civic Si, my shifter sat much lower and I have to compensate with slight lean sometimes.

I saw the skunk2 shifter, but am not sure I need to have a short throw, i just want the positioning and shift **** height.

Suggestions?

what about a fastline shifter. Many happy customers and they feel so good. I have been in a couple cars with them installed. Very nice.

That actually looks pretty good. Night be overkill for now, but i know it would help when i hit the track later.

I just may need to do that. I was thinking at first if someone had used like an integra stock shifter.

I'm goning to assume you have a B-series like many people on here and in that case just use a stock GSR shifter, a very slight shorter throw with the dual bend(and being OEM it won't break like some aftermarket ones). And even if you don't have a B-series you can still slightly modify the GSR shifter to fit the D-series linkage like I had done in my old stock D-series hatch. The shifter was really nice feeling and in a nice position.

Wholey **** thats a long shifter, ha ha

You could check out the hurst shifters, they are about the same length as stock.
I myself like a shorter one, and for the money and quality, B&M is my 1st choice.

I'm not totally against a short throw shifter, that is why I was considering the skunk2. I think it would work nicely, without being overkill.

As for the Fastline shifter, while it may look weird, from all I've read on it, it works amazingly and is great for on the track or if you really like (and pardon the pun) rowing through the gears.

Oh and for the record, I have the stock D16A6 in there - I feel my throw is actually pretty damn nice. It's just the height of the stick that bothers me. I may just go ahead and pick up a gsr stock piece as suggested, they cant be too much right?

What exactly would need to be modified to work on the D?

you could use a 90-93 integra shifter. they have the dual bend, and wont shorten the throw. go hunt one down at the junk yard.

That thing looks like what all the new "rice" drifters in my town run on their cars. That or a 10" ping Bubbly ***** for a shift ****.

With that being said, maybe you could find some sort of taller shift **** or make one yourself.

that shifter is huge we're not driving 69 shelbys. not to mention it looks like your shifter stabilizer would hit your exhaust.

Okay guys, I got lazy and decided to order the Skunk2 dual bend shifter. One of the forum sponsers had it shipped for $100. But for some reason he said the dual bend wasn't available for the EF's.

So I did a quick search in google and found a place that had the dual for about $113.

I know, hypocrite, but like I said, I wanted to buy something, got lazy and didnt want to wait, lol.

No, they were not dual bend.

And, I got my old GSR shifter for $17 shipped form someone on Honda-tech. What needs to be modified to make it work on the D is the bottom part of the shifter that bolts to the linkage the sides need to be cut down because the B linkage is wider than the D, for anyone else that wanted to know since he solved his dilemma.

Why spend all the extra money on a Skunk one? Like i mentioned earlier, B&M has the exact same desing shifter, same quality for sure a well for 1/2 the price $54 It works well, i have one in my crx.
