Quick Question Please Read.
Hey-
I've been having a problem with my hatch. It's a standard. Whenever I let off the gas too quickly, it jerks the entire car. If I'm going down the highway and let off the gas I can see the shift stick move forward.
Could the problem be that I need to replace my shift stabilizer bushings? I don't think it's the motor mounts, could be though.
Thanks in advance,
-Dennis

bad motor mounts will usually make a bit of a "clunk" sound when the load on the engine is either abruptly applied or removed, depending on which mount(s) are toast. but i will also say that in the 100's of 5 speed cars i have driven, you'll always get feedback from the engine through the gearshift when there is a physical connection.
have you been under the car to actually look at anything yet? that would probably answer your question rather easily, as a bad rubber mount or bushing will be hard, and full of cracks.
hope this helps, but seriously, go jack up your car.
