Default Crash motor mounts???

Has anyone ever heard of these i was told that the mounts on the underside of the motors are called crash mounts and that they really dont do anything. These are the ones that look like horse shoe shape. Both of mine are torn really really bad and im thinking that is making my motor shift when i shift!!!!

Thanks guys

Spencer

do u mean under the chasis or frame? cause if ur are, that can be the casue of ur engine vibration. they are torque mounts (maybe ders a more proper name).

these mounts serves a lot of purpose. i threw mines away when i did my swap..on driver side.. so when i turn the a/c on i can feel the condencer clutch on and off while on the freeway, its annoying.. now i got a worn mount from a friend of mines and it vibrates the whole car.. so it is good to have

If they are torn, get energy susp. inserts. They cost 11 bucks i think. I got them for my integra because i had the same problem with torn up mounts. Easy to install, just remember to put silicon lubricant on them or else they will squeek like hell after a while.

I went without the passenger side one on my sol for a few months after the auto to manual swap. Damn thing torque steered like a *****. The driver's side one isn't AS crucial, but nice to have none the less.

yes, because they are torque mounts. The lower driverside one is IMO the mor important one because if you do not have it, the morot will torque under heavy launch or hard driving adn will contact the hood civic/del sol, and it will dent it outwards. Get the inserts, they are cheap as hell, and very worth it if your mounts are already shot. Its better tehn going out and buying new ones from the dealer, and easier then tryingt o find a used set thats in good condtion
