turbo help

Default turbo help

found a full turbo kit off of greddy for my 99 civic...and im not exactly what of what all im gonna have to do to run about 16lbs of boost...ive been told thats the most you can run if you build it...but im not exactly sure what im needing in order to build the motor to hold it..ive heard the d16y8 can hold 250 hp max...just needing help guys...thanks.

There's lot of debate over what you can run on stock internals, but all of it seems to be "enough to make your car fun, not enough to make it a beast" from what I've read.

Search around in the FI forum, they'll be glad to help. TurboD16.com and Homemadeturbo.com are your friends too.

The stock recomneded boost is about 6-8lbs, but i know ppl who have run 10-12 psi without a problem. 16 seems a bit high for a singlecam, you might want to do some research into that some more before you end up blowing your motor.

All depends on the turbo, 8lbs is two totally differen't things on differen't trimmed turbos.

Stock greddy kits in any turbo trim are usually designed for lower boost

I.E. 6-10 lbs.
