Headlight question got pulled over twice in a week

Default Headlight question got pulled over twice in a week

I got pulled over last week about failure to dim my lights ok fine i told him i want to be seen but tonight on my way home from work another cop pulls me over and says the reason why is because i have a headlight out i told him the other is highbeam so he gives me a warning and tells me to use them.WTF bye the way is a 02 cbr f4i so what am i to do it seems whichever way i go im stuck or does it depends on officer

Stick with the lowbeam; it will hold up in court need it be.

Ride around with the low beam, worst case scenario you bring a manual (or something for proof) that proves the f4i uses a single low beam and shove it in the cops face.

Ya, the cop's got nothing on you. That's pretty stupid, if you ask me. The cop should have at least been open to having you show him the high beam on. The low beam on the F4i's is enough to get a DOT approval and he/she should have been able to tell. I'd say let him try to take you to court over it. Easy win for you.

yeah i get that a lot too. i'll be at the gas station pumping gas into my 636 and i'll always get some random person telling me my headlight is out

cop has no case. it's the way the bike was designed. If you're going around at night with your high beams on, then the cop has something to give you crap about.
This happened constantly with my F4i and RC51, but now that i've got my SV people have finally stopped pointing out my one-eyed bikes.

The only solution is to put a patch over the highbeam light. Pirate bike! ARRR!!

i used to get everyone and their grandma telling me i had a light out with mine. seemed like i had to be told that in order to get gas every time

you could just wire both lights to come on at the same time just share power from one light to the other, thats what i did and i havent had any problems.
