i'm having trouble with my d16 turbo.. i need help on wat can cuz it.. its great for draggin.. to start with... my 4th n 5th grade not so good.. it lagg and choke.. around 3500 n 4500 rpm. but if i drive it normal it run fine.. but as soon as i gas it. it choke on me.. and them my car start to sound like its mis firing.. when i shut it off and turn back on it it runs fine again...

 

English, do you speak it?

Did you get your car tuned when you turboed it?

When was the last time it got tuned?

Check and see if your distributor is lined up correctly.

It's difficult to figure out what you're asking, but from what I can discern, it seems as if you have a tuning problem.

 

Have you gotten a tune. The turbo could be too big, your injectors might be clogged.... It could be various things, be more specific as to what you have.

EDIT: damn, we all decided to post at the same time and suggested tunning.

 

soundslike you have a large turbo but youre not giving us a good detail of whats going on. but thats what i can think of

this my first time with turbo just trying to find the problem and work from there.. i haven't got it tune or anything.. just making a daily driving turbo car.. the car just stock everything.. with some resreach i should be able to boost 8psi with out a problem. after i got a bolt on turbo.. it been running like this. the turbo is a t3/t4 with 2inches air compresser outlet side.

 

what's your fuel system? why havent you gotten it tuned yet?

there you just answered your problem. what are you running for engine management?

 

with the research i found.. i shouldn't need it to be tune for running a stock motor it 6-8lbs of boost. a cuz of mine has the same setup.. and there not a problem.

holy hell. you and your friend are idiots.

you're introducing a **** ton more air into an engine and ecu that wasnt designed for it. how will the ecu compensate with more fuel and timing if it isnt tuned? tell me how you dont need a tune.

 

any major modifcations need to be tuned, if you are making more power....you need to get it tuned

on the plus side its obvious that you didn't search like you said and yo uwill be buying a new motor soon if you don't get it tuned

 

do a little more research. you need to tune ur car. ur ecu doesnt know that its getting that much air so it keeps putting the normal amount of fuel, and you need more of it.

hahahahaha....i wouldn't drive it until it gets tuned. hopefully you have enough cash for a new motor.

all jokes aside, you and your friend are lucky that your motors have lasted you this long. any extensive modifications you do to your car, the easier it is to blow the motor if not tuned properly. you never know either, you might be able to get more hp out of tuning it. have yet to see a car get tuned and come out with worser results, but you never know...
