Default serched : cost of turbo

Been considering going boost on my h23, and was wondering in anyone could ballpark how much it costs for the actualy parts, tuning and rebuilding the engine to withstand the boost since i have never owned a boosted car.

Well first... your car is automatic. Might want to consider a manual swap before boost. Second if you would search the market place and the FI section you would know how much it costs. You would know that the price can vary significantly depending on goals. As far as the h23 engine and tranny goes, they are both excellent for boost. Good luck . Please do some more research.

depends on your power goals.

probably anywhere from a homebuilt $1000- a fully custom setup upwards of $7-10k

learning to drive stick on a boosted car might not be such a good idea, depending on the power your hoping for. Learn to drive, then worry about making the car faster.

learn how to drive, and while your doing that save your money. If you turbo your car and not know how to row the gears you will die.

Whats your power goals? autox? track? just street?

I've seen turbo kits go for 1-4k depending on the turbo choice, cargepiping material etc. If you plan on sleeving the block and get forged internals expect around 10k. Remember that it's not just about parts. You will need a GOOD TUNE, as well for reliability.

Search for the Offical Turbo Prelude Thread, Some good infomation can be found in it.

my supras SP61 kit was 6 grand, my preludes T3/T4 garrett was 1.5 grand. its all on how far u want to go and how much streetability you want to sacrifice.
