Default 1992 H23

Im woundering where i can find quality parts to rebuild the h23 in my honda prelude. Im thinking about rebuilding the engine so that i could put a small amount of boost to it. Ive thought about swaping to an h22 but i figured it may be a little cheaper just to rebuild my h23. In help on finding pistons and rods and valves and all the other stuff i will need is greatly appreciated.

small amount of boost doesn't really tell us much. give us a horsepower range that you want to see your car make. on a budget you can get away with using your stock pistons and rods, depending on their condition.

Well the engine is getting higher mileage now and id figure rebuilding it would be good. but i hoping to be able to push possibly 300+ horsepower and boost wise i want to be able to handle higher boost levels possibly 20 or so but that wont be daily just every now and then every day driving it would probably tuned for about 10 psi. Im just having trouble locating parts for a h23 engine to be able to make it stronger.

then you haven't researched enough. my recommendation is to sleeve your block with iron sleeves, then to order you a set of forged pistons and rods made for the H-series spec motor. This is what will make your motor strong. Then to balance your whole rotating assembly. This is not going to be cheap and could cost upwards to $ 3,000 just for the block parts and work. Add another $ 2000 for a turbocharger, manifold, and exhaust piping. You're not done yet, add another $ 1000 for engine manigement and tuning. $ 500.00 extra for misc items.

So the main question here is ...... What is your budget ?

Yeah, I can make a list for you but you might have to get a loan. So what are you willing to spend? beacuse it sounds like you want a fully built motor. ("boost wise i want to be able to handle higher boost levels possibly 20")

Its better to spend a little extra but make it right.
