Default h23 with f22a tranny. need info

hey guys. ive done some reseach on this but havent seen much on it. Theres alot of threads with h22a with f22 tranny and the debate of which is better. Na and turbo sutff. I might get a good deal on an h23 (200 buck longblock) and i might pick up a cheap f22a tranny. I know it will work but what is your opinions on it. Would it be better just to get the h23 tranny? Would i lose any/alot of power using the f22a tranny? lemme know guys thanks. Plus i know h23;s are safe for boost. BUt anyone have any experience with h23 w f22tranny boost?

im pretty sure that the f22 trannies have longer gears... so if your goin to boost it well give the turbo more time to create maximum boost... but it sucks for NA or SC... thats my two cents on that...hope that info was usefull

you will drop out of your power band every shift and your car will be noticablely slower. The F22 trannies were designed for gas mileage, not acceleration. The F22 should not be a chioce in going turbo or NA. The average street turbo/supercharger setup are not putting enough power out to benefit from an F22 tranny. stick with the H23A tranny it is geared deeper (than H22A) but not too deep and is ideal for street setups of turbo/supercharger applications. For NA the H22A tranny is the only way to go

proof of what?

he stated the facts

go into the F/I, ALL Motor or Drag forum and ask people who have an h22a or h23 what tranny they are using

the only thing an f22 tranny is good for is an f22 motor

exactly right f22 tranny is basicaly a gas saver. H23 tranny has shorter gears than the h22 tranny. so just spend the few extra $$ and get the h23 tranny you will be happy.

Well, this is the proof I was looking for.

I don't take what people have to say on sites like these very seriously because many just follow what others are doing.

If I listened to what people had to "say" about modding my car....I would have an aftermarket clutch, high flow fuel rail, aftermarket fuel pressure regulator, DC Sports front uper strut tower bar, etc. All these things would NOT have affected my car's performance for what I am looking to use it for.

That's why i want proof. I will check out that forum.

hhmmm. thanks for the advice. But i have gone through some threads and there are people usin the f22a tranny on h22's with boost. they are happy with it. "Longer gears" I understand that i wouldnt be goin anywhere with a h23 f22a tranny na. BUt if i was to turbo it ,there wouldnt be any advantages/disavantages over an h23 with h23 tranny? thanks for any more advice
