i dont think it really matters for a bov.. there should be a screw on the bov somewhere for tension..

he is right. use the screw and nut to loosen and tighten the spring. too tight and it wont open yet too loose and it will leak under boost

i use to have a turbo xs RFL on a talon tsi, and it was loud but not unique sounding. plus it was the lamest bov ever, it sounded like a loud woooooosh! where as the ever so sweet greddy type s and hks ssqv are more of a ear piercing bird call. personal prefference.

i used to have that bov also.. i cant remember what it sounded like, but i do remmeber it wasnt the greatest as for high pitched, im thinking about finding someone to trade me bov's im tired of my whoosh from the APEX'I and want a type s so i can call the birds.

heh yea the type s gets the ladies. but for real it sounds great and works alot better than alot of bov out there. apparentyl it closes alot faster than others thats why its high pitched. could be wrong but thats wat i was told. but the hks ssqv is prob the best on the market.

That BOV is fairly quiet. I put the same one on a RSX I turboed a few months ago (had the same ugly pipe attached to it too)

Have you checked their website? I think they have a section where they tell you what the rates are for the colored springs.

LOL - can you record yourself doing that? That would be funny.

But on a serious note, a sound clip of the Blitz would be cool. That's what I'm gonna be running on my car (i bought a used one, but still getting the rest of the parts for the turbo)

there are plenty of sound clips for BOV's on "streetfire.net" just type in the one your looking for in the search. ive heard some meeean *** type s BOV's, the ssq is supposed to be better performance wise but just doesnt sound as loud, i personely think they just came out with the ssq because they ran out of the rights for the type s and now its all over e-bay

lol so HKS made the SSQV because the Greddy Type-S is on eBay? Of course, I don't know why I never thought of it before....
Not to mention loud does not = good for BOVs (not that it = bad, it just has NOTHING to do with the performance of the BOV.)

I have an SSQV on my RX-7 and it sounds & works great, I love it.
As for SSQV sound, it's pretty quiet if you don't build up much boost but it's perfect at higher levels.
