Default How can you tell how old your engine is?

I have a JDM d15b and was wondering the year of the motor and how old it is.
Determining on a engine swap or just pepping my motor. Getting kinda iffy on what to to.

Really you just look at the engine code on the block. There is no way to tell the EXACT year the motor was made. You can just tell what year range its from... Example=88-91, or 90-93

you can tell the year it was made or at lest the head, if the exhaust heat shield is off look above the manifold on the side the dizzy is on. there should be a bunch of # that look like this (9/2) the first set of numbers is the year. a 9/2 means 1992.

It's a 95 bud. Plus the year don't matter, it's what you got. D15B gives it away right then and there how powerful your motor is, if it's stock that is. If you're worried about the year of your car you shouldn't be mobbin a honda.

yeah i understand its a 95 but i just bought this car. The 95 only tells me the year of the head. The guy i bought it from tells me replaced the old engine in it cause it blew. Im just trying to see if he just swapped heads and thats it.. cause it does still have the DPFI. If the dude swapped heads then the 95 mpfi sould be on it.. well at least thats what the engine codes refer to on the 92-95 engines. Soory bro im new to this import tuning world.. ya gotta start somewhere lol. Im use to tunning americian cars. So.. far im iffy about this engine. If i swap i may need some links and help if ya can. Not worried about money. I also see the B16 is nice but to much of a hassle to swap.
