Default problem with 2001 gsr!!

i have no cels and the car drives and runs fine most of the time but every once and a while at highway speeds in 5 th gear at 3k the car will have no throttle response (still able to push down on throttle but nothing), shift to 4th and same thing, this will go away if i turn the car off and back on again while rolling, and will go away once i hit about 30 mph...i also have a high idle 80 % of the time like 1100 rpm the other 20% at about 800 rpm... and about 6k or so no power it will not pull like it used to...that's why i thought fuel so i replace fuel filter and fuel pump relay....but still same problem, i will run the TPS test this evening!!
also went over vacuum lines and all seem fine,

the car has only 20 k and is completely stock engine wise down to the Honda oil filter!!!

did search on tps and fuel related problems and found no help!

thanks for help!!!

check if you have the little light bulb on the CEL

ive heard that people remove them so it can be easier to sell

Let me see... if your throttle isn't working then maybe you should first check your throttle body? Also there is a DIY cleaning your IVAC or w/e... since your idle is off. I have no idea what I'm talking about.

wow..

I have the exact same problem. I have had to pull over on a crowded interstate twice to restart the car b/c complete loss of power (even though car is still running). No cel's either, also a 01 gsr.

when you put the key to acc. does the cel light illuminate?

won't hurt to check the t-body cable as well.

Did you do the spark plug/wire check? Boging/backfire can be caused by a faulty wire/plug. There are many things that can also make your car bog... but your best friend is process of elimination.

i had a cel about a week or so go and it was VSS but when i checked the plug and reset the ecu it went a way!!! would that have anything to do with it??

i checked the plug wires and they all have good spark, pulled the cap and the points on the cap are slightly corroded and the rotor has a black spot on it ??? i will change these parts Monday and see if this helps...... any ideas about the VSS though?

Try pulling your vss out (unpluging it) and plugging it back in, worked miracles for mine.
