Default Gsr shifter in 99 Si

Does a gsr stock shifter bolt right into 99 Civic Si, or is it too wide at the bottom and I need to shave it down?

Are any of you actually 100% certain of this? Every piece of information I've seen indicates that an Integra shifter will not fit the '99-'00 Si's linkage. The was a common issue when the C's short shifter was popular with the EM1 crowd. Since the shifter was made for the DC2, Si owners had to swap to the Integra linkage to do the installation.

My only certainty is through experience. I've put my shifter from a D-series onto GSR linkage and Del Sol VTEC linkage. I know the ITRs are a little wider because I have one of those and have to grind it down to fit my Del Sol VTEC linkage, but I was always under impression that all B-series besides ITR were the same. Also since aftermarket shifters sell 1 shifter to fit both 88-00 Civics and 94+ Integras.

I've always heard of people rocking gsr shifters in their civics.

The ITR shifter is identical to that of other model Integras. They share the same part numbers, including the bushings, collars, and washers.

As you said, it required grinding to fit, and that's the exact issue that others seem to experience (some try to bend the linkage fork open a bit in order to create more clearance).

I'm not doubting you, but I know that the 97-98 ITR shifters (54101-ST7-000) and 00-01 ITR shifters (54101-ST7-Z00), didn't have the same number, so is it possible the 97-98 ones are not as "wide" as the 00-01? Because I ordered a new 00-01 one recently and it turned out to be the wider one. But I have no idea about the older ones. Or is it just the color?

I believe that it is just the colour that changed. The '97-'98 ITR had a black painted shift lever, and also featured the traditional Integra-style shift **** that connected to the shift boot, thus completely covering the shift lever. For '00, the shift **** changed to metal (which didn't connect to the boot), so the boot hung down and left a portion of the shift lever exposed. The lever was therefore changed to a chrome finish, and I believe Honda/Acura simply eliminated the earlier part number and now uses the chrome lever as the replacement for all model years.

It seems that you know quite alot on this situation, so I am going with word that I have to grind it down to make it fit in the Si linkage. Thanks for the help.
