91 si b16 wont start....please help..

Default 91 si b16 wont start....please help..

hello i have a 91 si w/ b16a converted to obd1 w/ hondata. problem is it cranks but dosent start. it didnt have any spark.i had my laptop hooked up and the code for ignition output signal came on, i checked the wires and grounds and timing. i just bought a brand new distrubitor and still nothing, but now i have spark...

Make sure your getting fuel. Listen for a click sound under the left side of the dash when you turn on the key. it should click then click again after 3 seconds. if that works then your getting fuel. try that to start off with. Usually the main fuel relay goes out.

ok i herd the click, and i know iam getting fuel becuse i loosened the 2 bolts on the fuel pressure regulater and gas started to come out, and i pulled the plugs and they had fuel on um and i could smell it, i know it has spark

when i go to crank it it cranks fast...

check to see if the timing has slipped...low/no compression will cause fast cranking...

have you tried unhookin ur laptop? the feul management system mite be screwed up, thats wut happened to my buddies NSX

yea i unhooked it also, i have a chipped p28w/ the hondata and a p30 and changing the ecu didnt make a difference

Check the compression and cam timing. I had a no-start situation with my D15B VTEC awhile back even though I had spark and fuel.

ok i got it to start..i ordered the distributor from distributor king w/ there conversion, to obd0 plugs, and they had the pins crossed.now my problem is there is a big loss of power, when iam flooring it, it bogs and it takes a long time to get going, no codes

i had a problem with my car bogging just recently and it ended up being that the dizzy needed a new cap and rotor, when you got that one new did you change that?

no i just bolted it on, you think i should switch over the rotor from the old dizzy? thanks

Are there any cel codes? I like your username, i have vw myself, maybe we should hit the track 1 day lol jk. sprark plugs, wires, dizzy somewhere along those lines is the culprit.

it ran fine before the distrubitor went out, so i replaced it and thats it and now it runs like crap, when i ake off the accelleration sucks, it takes a while to start going, and i have no power

yep thats what it was, timing sliped 1 tooth on the intake cam.
