91 integra
91 integra will not start. it is getting fuel air and has a brand new battery. it will turnover for about 3 seconds then die right back out. i have played with the timming and everything. just will not stay started for more then 5 seconds. anyone have any idea.....
ya id check for spark n if that aint it then try the main relay. also turn the key on but dont start it n listen for the fuel pump i know you said you have fuel but just try that. but if there isnt spark then it could be the coil or icm (ignition controle moduale)
my bad i did mean to put that we are getting a spark. and yes the fuel pumps are priming. we had gas that was in the car for about a year and some change. drained it all at put 93 ocrtane with a fuel booster just so when it mixes with the old nast gas it wont dieloot it to the put where it wont fire. thanks in advanced for the help...
well did you do anything to it or did it just start doing this. it most likaly is somthing to do with the dizzy like the coil or icm but if you did somthing like change the timing belt then it could also be cam to crank timing. that wouldnt make it not have spark but i still cant tell if you are saying it has spark or not sorry . . . but if it does and it doesnt run then it might b the timing belt timming. also if you didnt just change the timming belt then it could have just been lose or the tensinore could have got lose n skiped some teeth. im not sure im just giving you possibilities. hope that helps

will try that and let you know.
I'm not sure if Honda's are prone to this, but I've heard of vapor lock in some cars.
Has the car been sitting out side? if it has, trying removing the spark plugs one at a time and crank the engine so that any residual water gets sucked through. replace the plugs.
Also check to see if there is any red colored residue inside the distributor cap, this is a sign that the distributor itself is failing.
Make sure your spark plug coils are also in good condition.
Test that the fuel line is pumping fuel through, unbolt and remove the fuel line coming from the tank, do a quick or rapid start of the engine and you should see the fuel shoot out of it, you'll know then if your fuel pump is bad.
