fluctuating idle..wtffff

fluctuating idle..wtffff

car has a brand new mini me swap..block has less than 1000 miles on it. im told the tranny needs to be replaced due to bad 1st and 2nd gear. Yesterday while waiting in a parking lot for my friend i noticed the idle would fluctuate all the way from 400-1100 almost dieing everytime. WTF?! can someone please tell me wtf is wrong and how i would/should go about fixing this or is it something that is normal for a new engine??
