Bugs hell, this is an infestation. It is coming together though. My new Gt40 will be here next week and I dont know what to do with the tranny. That was a new tranny. New synchros, sleeves, cradle, and diff.

I spoke with Kenny because well someone told me to call him about the trans problems we were having, but non the less, he said there is a joint out of illinois i think called 300 below that does wonders with cryo. Also slipping the clutch a bit in each gear is critical to make the trans last longer. We have killed so many friggin transmissions this year, it is keeping us from making any events. Thank god our sponsors are so understanding. We have gotten exactly two hits per tranny since last novemeber when we started testing. This last time the gearbox completley locked up at the top of third and it knocked out the lower end with it. Yes I agree with Art on this is the fun part.

I have enjo stage 7 axles/hubs and they have performed flawlessly. I also use the CC twin disc clutch and it has been great. The tranny is definitely the weak point.

Is that what you're taking out everytime, the gears/synchros? At least with our SFWD cars most of the tranny problems have been in the ring/pinion (even took out a couple CircuitWorx pieces, however they do hold up a lot better than their OE counterparts) and splitting casings (haven't tried a cradle yet though). Obviously nothing is going to be "bullet proof" here without the cost of an Xtrac, G-Force, etc. but you could look into the Liberty/CTC gearstacks. If they hold the power then you'll probably start breaking other stuff (ie. casings). I'm pretty sure it's not out yet but Liberty was supposedly working on an aftermarket Honda casing a while back. If/when it ever does come out you'll probably be around half the price of an Xtrac with I'm sure not even half of the reliability but that's the best some can do when an additional $10K doesn't fit into the budget.

I'd also have to agree with Art, it's half the fun, but NOT when you're in competition!!!

call 300 below 217-423-3070

It is not 2 expensive to have parts treated. We never had it done we just ran stock stuff all year. We never had a 3rd gear problem but we were breaking cases and 4th gear about every 3 passes. Find a bunch of cases and a bunch of parts and just rebuild them at the track. Its part of racing Honda's. Liberty is making a case or was talking about it. But it is not out yet. JJ told me about another person that is making a case but I do not know who he said it was and how much it was but it will be out soon.

The only thing I can say is slip the clutch a bit and find the gear instead of forcing it in. Take your time going into 3rd it will save you alot of parts.

If you are only getting 2 hits per trans...you are doing something wrong. Especially in a Street Class Car...

We used to run the liberty faceplated setup, and also had some serious clutch issues until jt @ rps took care of us. We also made the mistake of using a drag spool. We said **** all the newfandangled **** and just went with some gearspeed sync's and an inexpensive lsd and it is working great. And Dave we did make mistakes, HAHA, but you never learn unless you work through it.

The shift forks look great but I may replace them just to be sure. What do you guys think about Saenz?

The car made 680whp.
