i think my civic is off timing how do i check if it is since it wont start and i cant use a timing light

 

How did you conclude that your timing is off?

I assume you checked for spark, fuel, and compression?

 

what kinda motor are u running? maybe u just need to advance ur distributor way past its suppose to. have someone turn the distributor while u try to crank it. make sure there arent any bolts so u can just keep on turning it way past its suppose to.

 

yea i had a different distributor plugs wires and everythin the only thing left is my timing

 

your timing belt probably skip a tooth.

 

set the crank to TDC and check if your cam gear/s is/are alligned properly....
